Run for your money disney - Ice Age Reviews

We carefully screen our family movies since we have an impressionable 3 year old toddler. Ice Age was a sure winner. The music is contagious. The unique characters delivered witty lines, especially endearing to adults, and curious for the little ones (i.e. What's Old Faithful Mom?)The whole story was woven well together by great scenes.

Rather have the flu! - Ice Age Reviews

Compared to Pixar's CGI animated movies this seems like a 1988 animated movie! The Theatrical Trailer makes it sound that the story is real good but it is not. Your kids may like it but probably not. Don't see this, please!

The best family movie of 2002 - Ice Age Reviews

I didn't want to see this in the theaters, actually, I didn't want to see this at all. But I ended up loving it from the first minute to the very end.! The Story is stupid. The kid gets seperated from his parents, then a mammoth, a sloth, and a saber-toothed-tiger end up on a quest to get him home. But the tiger is going to double-cross them and eat them, blah blah blah. Stupid story, but there are so many laughs along the way, you could care less if it's stupid or not. XD The graphics were spectacular. They didn't look like they were being recorded in real life, like Milo and Otis, but you could see that a lot of time and effort was put into the graphics. The graphics looked realistic, with a childish touch to them. (Bad childish graphics example: Madagascar) You could see the individual hairs on the bodies! Talk abot good graphics!! But I have to take a frew points off because the humans looked to solid, like action models that are somehow moving. This movie will keep you laughing all the way. You can't stay bored more than 5 minutes! It also has one of the cutest endings. It shows kids the importance of friendship and choice. This movie definently goes to my favorites!

ice age was better than ice age the meltdown because the acting was better. because scrap was much sillier in ice age. sid said sillier words. diego tried to kill meanier things. manny didnt want to go save the baby.

Hilarious and surprisingly meaningful movie - Ice Age Reviews

Ice Age is great animated movie for the whole family. Children will enjoy the cute characters and everyone can appreciate the humor on so many levels. Also, the story is better than the standard kid's fare, with a deeply moving tale of loss, acceptance, and family. Most of all, Scrat the Sabre-toothed Squirrel is one of the funniest animated characters ever, and I hope to see him appear is other films or shorts in the future. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves animation, regardless of age.

Outstanding movie no matter what others say! - Ice Age Reviews

This movie had me laughing like crazy within the first few min. No its not a Shrek or Toy Story its a movie even better than those. I would recommend this movie for all ages adults and children alike, will love this picture.

Ice age - Ice Age Reviews

This movie is perfect for families. It is rated PG for Mild Peril, but it isn't that bad.The little squirrelish thing is so cute and always seems to get into some kind of trouble. Ray Romano does great in this movie as Manfred, aka from Sid, "Manny the Moody Mammoth." He is grumpy most of the time, which makes it very funny. I would definately give this movie a 10 out of 10. You NEED to see this!!!

Good - Ice Age Reviews

Good movie. Sid is the funniest character ever! See it, or don't see it. It depends on what mood your in. Maybe Maybe not.

Funny, but not great! - Ice Age Reviews

This movie was pretty funny, and the visuals were great to look at. The movie itself isn't that great, because at the end it kinda drags and it also doesn't really have a rewatch value. I liked it the first time, but the second time I really didn't like it, so i'm assuming that it isn't really that good. The visuals and the occasional but very funny jokes land this movie in the B range.

Why the ice age rocked!!!!! - Ice Age Reviews

Ice age is a really funny family movie. The "cold" story is about of coarse the ice age and it follows 3 now extinct animals(a wooly mammoth, sabor tooth tiger, and a sloth) trying to return a baby to its human family. You can also watch this movie for the funny little squirrel\rat that turns up in every scene trying to find a hiding place for his acorn.

Squirrel saves the movie - Ice Age Reviews

Overall, the storyline was just as any other movie for children; those quickly forgotten within two weeks of watching them if it had not been for Scrat the squirrel. It was definitely the savior of this movie from being easily forgotten. Scrat made everyone laugh and it was like a side storyline, way better than the main one.

This movie is almost funny - Ice Age Reviews

This movie is ok. It is not that funny, but it is good if you liked the Ice Age. You might actually want to see this. I would give this a 7/10 rating

Cute, animated, and definitely family-oriented - Ice Age Reviews

good, not great...better than a lot of Disney movies...short enough to hold little one's attention span...for entire families, and is somewhat educational about the history of the planet as well

A great animated tale! - Ice Age Reviews

When a Wooly Mammoth named Manny (voiced by Ray Ramano), a Sloth Named Sid (voiced by John Leguizamo), and a shady Saber-toothed Tiger named Diego (voiced by Denis Leary) get together to return a lost human infant to its rightful family, or herd as the animals put it, things get a little hectic and funny. This great animation set during the Ice Age is a wonderful movie for all ages in the family to watch which is full of laughs, drama, and crazy ninja dodo birds. Make sure to keep an eye out for a zany squirrel named Scrat as he tries in vain to catch and crack open a nut. A great buy for your family video collection and definately worth the rental. Would I lie?

Realy funny - Ice Age Reviews

Its not Shrek but its funny for both kids and adults. The character Scrat pops in and out as some kind of comic-real-leaf, in a movie thats already got you howling.

Funny but simple - Ice Age Reviews

When I was watching Ice Age, I really thought it a funny movie. The language is full of humor and it made me laugh for the beginning to the end. But the story is too simple for most of the people. What a pity!

Worst cgi movie - Ice Age Reviews

Possibly the worst animated movie to come out in the past 10 years. The directors thought that by having Ray Romano on cast would simply make it a funny movie. This is not the case. One of the most pathetic attempts to make a childrens movie interesting or even amusing, why did they have to announce a sequel?

Like most have said: good, but not great - Ice Age Reviews

This movie will do for ya when you want a film with a few laughs, but it's mostly for the little people (kids). There were a few times where the humor didn't fit or where children would probably not get the jokes like the flying saucer frozen in time or the "Titanic" line, "Captain, iceberg dead ahead!" For what it's worth, this film does teach children a very good lesson about getting along with people who are different than yourself. A good enough film to recommend, but don't expect this to be as good as the Disney movies. Grade: B+

Just a fun little movie. - Ice Age Reviews

There isn't anything too special about this, when I think about it. Very well done in the visuals department, I must say. The theme, however with the humans and all...well, that kind of bugged me. Oh well. The main animals were great, with very colorful characteristics. I won't say this was the best, but it is a good kid's movie. Okay, you know what I really loved about this movie, though? The little squirrel-thing, and the theroy of how the ice age came to be. The first and last scenes were quite funny.

Great - Ice Age Reviews

this movie is great. It ie very entertaining for people of all ages. This movie has a great plot and is very interesting. Great deal of characters. It's story was great it was sad, funny, happy and kind of suspensful...great movie ... I Loved it!

My review - Ice Age Reviews

Set in prehistoric times when glaciers scoured the earth, the movie finds a wealth of pleasure in a simple story ? three animals find a human baby and set out to return him to his tribe. The leader of the expedition is Manfred, a heartsick woolly mammoth (voice of Ray Romano); Sid, a motor-mouthed sloth rejected by his family (voice of John Leguizamo); and Diego, a morally conflicted saber-tooth tiger (voice of Denis Leary). Danger is ample; Diego?s pack leader Soto (voice of Goran Visnjic) is determined to ambush the group, which must also dodge avalanches and volcanoes. The parallel adventures of Scrat, a saber-tooth squirrel who wants only to convey one precious acorn to a safe hiding place, provide some of the movie?s funniest visual jokes. Ice Age is directed by Carlos Soldanha and Chris Wedge. Mr. Wedge is the maker of an Oscar-winning short film, Bunny, whose company developed the magical animation techniques that give this all-digital creation density and luster that far exceeds most computer graphics. Their breakthrough has to do with the way light plays across both the characters and the imposing, often majestic ice-blue backgrounds. Their system renders the animals at once rich and real, (as in the convincing elephantine gait of Manfred) but deliberately cartoonish at the same time. As always, the most problematic figures are the humans (computer animators have yet to figure out how to make people who don?t move like stick figures), but overcome it again with stylized design that makes their creations convincing but clearly imaginary. The script by Michael J. Wilson, Michael Berg and Peter Ackerman is quick, clever and emotional, and makes fine use of the voice talent at hand. Mr. Romano in particular is wonderfully effective as the morose but honorable Manfred. The movie?s greatest weakness is its predictability; for all the exciting dangers and comical mishaps the animals encounter, there are few genuine surprises along the way. Still, Ice Age makes for truly fine family entertainment, a spirited adventure to charm parents and kids in equal measure.

Warm-hearted ice - Ice Age Reviews

Ice Age doesn't have the best character animations, but the peril, laughs, voice acting, and action are nearly on par with anything from Pixar...and that's saying something.

I like da squirell tingy - Ice Age Reviews

This is a great movie with a cool little squirrel thing. His mini movie where he is avoiding danger while trying to get his acorn is the bast part of the movie.

This movie is a masterpiece! - Ice Age Reviews

There's only one very bad thing about the movie: IT'S WAY TOO SHORT! This is definitely one of the funniest movies ever made. Computer animated movies have never been funnier & sweeter than this one. The characters are lovely, sweet, hilariously funny yet very human. The computer effects are simply outstanding & they picked the perfect actors to bring the characters to life! I really can't say much else about it, except for: GO SEE IT IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET!!! ;-)
